Baby Shower! Post#2 (Games & Favors)

Our first game was "My Water Broke!" It is intended to be played throughout the shower. To prep- Buy those babies from a craft store and drop in an ice cube tray a few days before the party. When the guests arrive, give them a cube and tell them they can use any means available but the first to have their baby in hand must yell, "my water broke!" This game in action is hysterical.

Our next game was the string--guess mom's belly size. Have enough string for everyone to cut the length that they think will circle Mommy's belly. Once everyone has a string, measure Mommy and compare her string to everyone else's. Shame on them for thinking she's so round! ;-)

We moved onto to a more sentimental ritual... Writing "Wishes for Baby". Perfect addition to the baby book!

The most comical game may have been the last.... I don't remember a name for it, but basically you blow up a balloon and stick it under your shirt. Compare your new belly to Mommy's belly and see who looks more pregnant.

For favors for everyone, I made peppermint foot scrub. I put their initials on the little tubs after I cut them out with my Silhouette Cameo.

Baby Shower! Post#1

I hosted a Baby Shower / Friends Reunion Party for a very dear friend, B. We had a blast welcoming baby K by playing games, offering wishes for baby, and giving them the most handy gifts.

Here's the prepwork pictures:

I really enjoyed making the banner. It was the most time consuming project, but I love the effect. I cut out the letters with my Silhouette Cameo and then painted each flag (those were hand cut). After the letters dried, I hand stitched the flags onto the ribbon. I sprayed it several times, front and back, with Mod Podge spray so it would be stiff and not be too flimsy.

This punch was de-vine. Lemonade Punch

My mom is an antique addict - this baby carriage is a great find. It is marked "Occupied Japan" and the toothpicks fit perfectly!
The food! I made my own tuna salad, pimento cheese (no link, but it's easy - pimentos, sharp cheddar cheese, mayo to taste), and roast beef rolls. Baby veggies were a must and the BLT dip was a hit. I bought it from a local shop. For desert I had my triple chocolate cupcakes and strawberry fudge (no link, again, it's easy - white chocolate chips and strawberry icing). I cut the fudge into baby bottle shapes... cute. ;)

 Balloons are a must!
I asked everyone to sign-in on this tile that I gave to the Momma-to-be so she can prop it up in baby K's room.

I'm a Fan

Oh happy day! In my effort to update my house, I found a fan I loved. On sale, no less. ;) Of course a coupon helped alleviate even more of the pain. Ha! My sweet man installed it for me. He may be just as proud of it as I am! Here is the before and after.....

Updating the Hizzy

While the hiz-ouse was move-in ready, I felt (and currently feel) the need to update the "little things" i.e.: hardware. No, I didn't do all the hard work..... Shout out to my hunny, E. ;)
